For most of my early years I SUCKED at art. Like I cannot overstate how much my drawings would look like a kindergartener made. I genuinely had no passion for art in my early years and certainly wasn’t born with it or any ability. As I started getting older, especially as a teenager, I started coming up with stories in my head and I realized I had no way of telling them. So I decided I wanted to draw them. I sat down at my computer one random evening and watched tutorial after tutorial on how to draw people. (Like seriously, shidzilla and draw like a sir were the basis for my art style) I grabbed an old sketchbook id never used and every day I drew faces and faces, then I moved on to bodies, and they sucked. That old sketchbook is filled with terrible art I hate looking at. But I kept going. I’ve improved so much through these simple tutorials and basic PRACTICE. I’m certainly not the best artist now, I’ve still got a lot of learning to do, but I just wanted to emphasize that, especially with places like YouTube or skillshare, where you can LEARN, it is easier now to be a real artist than it ever has been before. And even though I followed tutorials, it’s still MY art. Not a robot’s. So please, if you ever feel like that commenter or that you “simply weren’t born good at art and never will be” just remember that it is so easy to learn. You just need the right motivation. 0
