I hugely respect Tyson. I am more hesitant than he is about usage of AI but NOT because I'm scared it will 'kill us' or 'take over the world'. I consider myself a futurist and feel the advancement of technology is in our best interest. I'm more scared it will be used by corporations to displace/replace workers who will then do nothing to provide for those people they replace. I am worried they will use AI to scrape data provided by actual creatives to provide products that, while maybe streamlines, will be found lacking in terms of artistic expression, or meaning and in a way will become just another product 'manufacture' and sell. I am scared they will use the tech to continue campaigns of misinformation to steer the public towards views and thoughts that will further their own desires for profit and control to the detriment of all others...........simply put I am not afraid of 'technology'.......I am afraid of people in positions of power and how they will use it.
