This is one of the times I would be very careful with a take like that. Is he an Ai-artist? No of course not. He is a prompter, that's all. No controversies there.
But I do worry about the copyright laws here. The AI industry is still ridiculously young by standards of law. While in this case they probably made the right decision on not jumping the gun we do need to consider the ramifications for both the future and similar possible cases.
When I use AI to help me write code is it my code or is it open source because AI was involved. If I use Ai to help me write stories is it my story or is it open source because AI helped me. What if I use AI to write the entire thing from start to finish, with little input outside of prompts? What if I use AI for art, but to enhance a sketch into a fully fledged drawing?
In other words: Where is the line?
And that doesn't even consider the near future. Let's assume AI keeps growing at the expected pace. What about in 2 years? 5 years? 10 years? By then AI might easily beat anything a human puts out and everybody worth there salt will heavily involve AI, or at least use it for all the busywork.
For this reason my current take is this: Let's just watch with a mindful eye and see where this goes.
