Bernie, I usually agree with everything you say and this time I share your analysis and prediction. But regarding the solutions I utterly disagree with you this time. Focussing on workers won't fix the problem. You will just benefit an ever decreasing amount of people still being employed. A sustainable solution can only be to democratize the economy. Be it through taxes or through ownership: Every citizen needs to benefit from the increasing productivity - not just workers. I also disagree with your definition of "good jobs" - being a truck driver or a workers in a factory is not a good job, ask Erich From about that. Society has to define real good jobs like teachers, nurses, caretakers for elderly people, artists etc. - jobs that create real value for the society, cannot be replaced so easily by AI and are not being honored by our economic system. I am from Germany and our Social Democrats think like you in their old terms of workers vs employers but in my humble opinion those times are over. It is no longer workers vs employers but money vs. people. And time is of the essence: The new oligarchat will soon have ultimate media control. As soon as this is the case there is almost zero chance for any change to the better.
