The devs 'rolling' their eyes at this point in the AI cycle are just behind the curve imo, coding with AI and specifically Claude is the future at this point, many software devs I know of, and most people at my office who mostly use python for general analysis and model building, all use some form of AI as a tool. Will it ever completely replace these people though? At this point I don't think so but 5 years ago this scenario was already unthinkable.
The rest of generative AI is a total bubble though, its programming side is overvalued as well, but atleast it adds more than sora meme videos do.
