Again, you sum up a very nuanced issue with a very learned position. It's hard for the general public and artists to understand that the end product isn't otself the whole point of art. In looss terms, art is a method of communication for an idea. Very often, the point of art is to portray a solid idea, and in those cases, ai is very good at approximating the human understanding of the objects form but as of right now ai doesnt understand the human process of creating art, the point of composition, and the modern art worlds need to make a statement. An AI can not for instance create politically motivated art like Ai Wei Wei. At the same time AI doesnt have to deal with criticisms on the value of its art because it ultimately is a tool made to make things that look good to people without context so for the most part it cant offend an audience. That isnt to say AI is valueless as a tool. If i wanted to be radical on this point i could argue that AI algorithms are themselves a piece of art and all the disscussion created by AI only enriches its artistic value. I dont think my feelings are quite that intense on the mater but there can be an arguement for auch an interpretation.
