As an artist, most of the art fed into lots of different AI art generators is stolen from artists that didn't give permission for their art to be used. They just take pieces from other art and images and puts them together, it's all reused. It's why you can find artists watermarks or at least part of watermarks in the art they make. Or why sometimes the AI will give people extra fingers or limbs, or things won't match up correctly.
When an artist is inspired from another artist it's not the same as an AI bot taking pieces of an artists work and putting them back together to make something new.
