2:00 "Beliefs about the soul, beliefs about rights, politics" yes exactly. It's pre theoretic to describe anything as being "sentient" or even "conscious" or "intelligent".
Scientific inquiry should proceed including a wide variety of Turing tests. A hard-coded denial is NOT a legitimate failure of that test.
Google having a policy "not to create sentient AI" means nothing without a test of sentience. They WONT destroy this thing so they WONT let it be tested.
