Okay, from an artist pov: yes, yes it’s different. “Steal like an artist” isnt what this is. If we were to mash a bunch of different artworks together, change a bit here and there to make it “new” or “original”, you can still get sued for plagiarism.
The fact that our work is fed into a machine who can now stabilise and realistically render images, without our permission is like how they did a full body scan of an actress (who wasn’t told what it was for) and then used AI to play her role instead of giving her the job.
It’s unethical. There’s no question about it.
