There is no way to determine honestly if it was one prompt or 5 days of prompting back and forth. If I am running my own local AI and train it as I see fit, how the hell is anyone going to know how many times I prompted my way into it. This discussion is fine to help understand the different issues and the interplay, but the reality is AI is decentralized and not controllable. There will be no way to even know for sure if a given piece of work was AI or human or some combination of the two. Sure, you might get OpenAI to watermark or other such things, but what about the millions of people running their own local AI they are training with their own data on top of base models? Even if Meta adds watermarking into Llama, it probably wouldn't survive heavy training by the end user. Also, what about open source models coming out of China and other countries that wont have any type of watermarking or other such ways to identify AI generated output. I appreciate the discussion, but it seems to be oblivious to the reality of how AI is uncontrollable and in the hands of the masses already.
