The AI could simply have been programmed to evoke a certain response, in this case a culturally relevant and somewhat comedic poke at the 'trick question'. When given a proposition with a value of absolute zero (no possible answer exists) it basically trolls the algorithm, and he programmer, simultaneously. For an AI construct to be truly 'sentient' or in Terminator SkyNet terms 'self-aware' it has to be thinking and problem solving on its own without running its programming. Haven't any of you seen Short Circuit? Need more input, STAT!
