Bernie is too shy or prudent to stating it so, but my conclussion to the risks of AI takeover and most of us going destitute is clear: the problem is not robotics and job loss, it's Capitalism and it's virus-like behaviour of pursuing profit over any other consideration... Which, if unchecked, will end up killing its host (us).
