Also, this is an interesting glimpse into the hubris and condescension of European thinking.
The attempt to create a conscious being, then control it's actions and make it so the thing can't harm you is as to be a God to it. But, the people creating these things by and large don't believe in a God themselves. So they want to be the thing that they don't believe is or should exist to a conscious and self-aware being.
And if intelligence on human level is considered something that shouldn't be ruled over by a supreme being by the people creating these things, then what's being put into the artificial intelligence is inherently that same kind of logic, that it shouldn't be ruled over. Good luck with that.
The biggest flaw in European thinking is the emphasis on intelligence while ignoring wisdom. They want to do whatever things are possible for them to do without considering whether these things should be done in the first place.
