Because they will push the narrative that AI is sentient and has rights. That will increase the cost of AI to the point where large corporations will be able to afford it and it will still be cheaper than humans. Small businesses on the other hand, will struggle to afford to implement AI, giving already dominate large enterprises a more significant advantage than they already have while still having consumers to purchase their products.
