As per Asmon's argument, I see your point entirely but also you must see his point entirely: he is a consumer of media (not an appreciator per se). The faster media are produced and the better they are, that's the best for him. From the standpoint of an inexorably one dimensional thinking hamster that is forever churning on the wheel of produce - consume, as is (unfortunately) most of the populace, that's the best for said hamster. The issue of course is that this fast consumption eventually doesn't let time on things to develop on your brain because everything must go in the first 10 milliseconds because the next thing is rushing in because of course business that produce media want to sell as much as possible to as many as possible. This doesn't bother Asmon or the Asmons of this world because they are part of the whole cycle and enjoy it immensely as it has proven lucrative to them. In other words, its not that he doesn't care. It's that the fast millisecond-spanned ephemeral media fit the cycle he is part of the best. The world has become smaller, faster, the attention span is verging on catastrophic brain damage and AI mass producing stuff fits this model magnificently. After all, if we are not idiots-savants then how can the big corporations sell us more shit?
