While using radar, if the closing distance to an object is equal to the vehicle's speed, then the object is stationary. If the other vehicles are driving through that object (such as an underpass) then trust the vision, if not then trust then trust the radar (such as an object that other cars are reacting to).
In the case of the morotcycle rear-end, surely using the camera at night AI/CV confidence is reduced. In this case the rader can sense the closing speed to the object (motorcycle) is not the vehcile's speed so the object (motorcycle) is moving along the road. Using sensor fusion with the cameras means the object can be detected and classified using AI/CV, but distnace can be verified by the radar.
Surely the ability to patch the software with additional sensor fusion should always be the option, rather than removing sensors and therefore this added benfit (ignoring the LiDAR option).
