Let's assume that AI works as hyped. The idea that most of the unemployed can take part in a cottage industry of free lancers, and make enough money (value) to buy the expensive goods produced by automated factories is crazy. Activists are already talking about UBI so people can buy the stuff made by the highly productive. So governments will tax the automated industries, to give that money in the form of UBI to people so they can buy the stuff produced by those same automated industries. It's kind of like giving away your product for free.
