I dunno, in my opinion AI art isn't much different from a lot of abstract art where you just splatter paint or tape a banana to a wall. There is no skill needed for that and it's just some raw idea realized with simple methods and those things are usually still considered art. Sure it is way easier than painting it yourself, but i think everything where you make something in your head a reality is considered art. I hate the way some people act high and mighty because of their AI art and selling it for high prices, but that's not much different from how abstract art sometimes works.
