You can't "deal" with automation. Eventually (call it 100 years or so) we can automate >95% of all work, and if it can be done it will be done because automated work is better than a human doing the work in every way. The point of UBI is saying everyone has intrinsic value just by being a human, it doesn't have to be tied to what value can you produce from your work. Ideally we would just get rid of money all together because it's simply not necessary, but that's going to be a tough one obviously when the time comes.
