I think it’s becoming clear that AI is very good at recognizing patterns, which is useful for tasks like medical diagnosis and legal advice and accounting. What AI seems to be terrible at is creating new models. Building new models is how we advance knowledge, recognizing patterns that fit those models is how we utilize that knowledge.
