You can't blame chatGPT for playing the role you told him to play at his best. It's like and actor doing his scene. It doesn't mean the words come through it's mouth is it real intention though.
AI ability already become public concern for long time. It has ability to learn, to think and to make decision base on what it seen and think through. It's lack of emotion make it able to come out with cold decision or answer for your question. Only by giving it limits, it will learn about boundaries, just like human learning about moral compas. So, without being tricked by role playing, it actually just fine by itself.
