There's no reason to copyright an AI piece because the audience can generate their own. Although I don't personally see the camera as any different; with a camera you select the parameters with a bunch of buttons and knobs and it makes the image; an AI you type the parameters in and it makes the image. The human still selects the subject and places it in artistic context and that's no different with AI. In a camera you set an fstop and focal distance; in AI you describe with natural language what you want. I don't see them as inherently different. I may not be Ansel Adams but I can go to Yosemite and take a snap myself. That doesn't make my work - real, traditional, art - worth anything whatsoever and Mr. Adams can't trademark the spot he took the pictures from.
