If you buy a car, you drive it. You keep your hands on the wheel. People put too much trust in systems, and that’s the problem. It’s a machine. If I ever have to ride in a Robotaxi alone.. I’m taking the drivers seat.
Also the Telemetry definitely shows that it was Autopilot that veered him into the ditch. Steering wheel torque is measured by the Electric Power Steering Motor. The steering angle didn’t change. If the steering angle changed that would have proved that he caused the accident, but it didn’t. Torque was applied by the Electric Power Steering Motor to send the car leftwards right as the Full Self Driving Graph LOCKED THE CAR TO GO FULL LEFT. Then steering angle changed. That is full definitive proof that a car CANNOT drive under a full camera based system. Tesla vision is flawed, it was made cheaper than the old system by ditching radar and ultrasonic sensors. And I doubt this would have happened in the same way if Tesla kept refining their old 3 layer system with more processing power.
