I think a big reason for people like this is the fear of being bad at things. I went through a phase where I wanted to quit art because the art I can do isn’t up to the standards I wanted it to be at, and I had to work through that phase and remember that the only way to make good art is to make bad art first (and remind myself that I draw because I enjoy it, so my goal has to be to enjoy to process, not to get a perfect product). I feel like these AI “artists” have decided to not try to get past their fear of being bad at art. And I feel really sad for them honestly.
