I don't think we would progress to the point where robots take everyone jobs and you get laid off your job because your company decided you were inefficient. This will probably happen when the human population isn't so high to the point where its cheaper to employ a robot because their aren't as many humans. This idea only holds up if space travel spreads the human race across the stars and we all have are own Villas with robotic servants though
