There's alot of talk about the ideology of privacy and freedom, but what exactly is dangerous about selling my search history to an algorithm that will show me personalized ads? I'm maybe mad that I don't get a share of the income since it's my property they're selling, but I don't care about Amazon knowing my faviorite books and giving me reccomendations.
At least companies don't care about anything other than selling me stuff, governments would use that info for far more dumb shit.
