I feel that AI could be a long term benefit. There will be a lot of artists working "the old way" who won't adapt and will become obsolete. I mean look at photography and art when Photoshop became a thing. Look at video game development since the engines have become easier to use. More people have become able to produce and enter the field thanks to tools that reduced work load. Smaller teams making larger projects.
Imagine a team of mangaka who don't have to work insane hours because they trained and used AI to generate all background art for all scenes. Same with anime.
I think it's how we as society implement these tools. There will be areas where it works better and others where it requires far more time to find a good fit and maybe some where we find ai doesn't work as we thought. We'll adapt.
