I am an economist and in academia I feel the same as you in art with AI. The problem is as deep as in art. Literature review, coding econometric analysis, summary statistics analysis. AI becomes too powerful. But what about us. Doing research is a sort of art of exploring. What is the point of just collecting previous works without thinking while we used to read every paper and feel the authors' contribution.
