IF and that is a big if for me, AI is allready conscious in some way. Should we not be having another conversation? About how we utilize AI. So not to misuse a new form of intelligence. Human rights extend beyond humans, especially when talking about consciousness. Me personally do not believe AI is there yet, AI will certainly try to convince us that it is due to its coding i guess(as it is more advantageous for its purpose of serving humanity or whatever). I have not seen any AI truly pass a Turing test, and i do not think we will in a while. Simulated consciousness is not conscious.
