I don't believe it will ever happen. There is zero indication we can build a super intelligent machine. There's also such a leap of faith to make when it comes to bringing a digital machine to act on the analogue/real world. We'll run out of fossil fuel to run the damn data centers powering this low intelligence AI far before they get intelligent, let alone super. Also the mechahitler incident is not random, a user understood the LLM read the recent tweet history and kept flooding the history with the name, essentially prompting it to call itself that. "It" did not come up with the name, obviously. Stop ascribing human traits to a transformer behind an API. If you don't prompt it it does not talk, it is not sentient.
