I’ll stop on the first point’s flawed logic respectfully: ‘they’re purpose bound’.
Show me something that isn’t purpose bound, or something deemed with an abstraction capability of itself, yet somehow externally verifiable that we can confirm, without ‘binds’.
This seems to indicate to me a worldview reflection more than a scientific limitation. The position would seem built on a premise that coherence isn’t an objective starting point, a common issue I reckon with naturalists/materialists. If meaning is reduced to chaos, then chaos itself has no meaning, so the premise is fallacious.
The more coherent view, is that the ultimate premise to begin with, is that things are purpose driven (objective truth claim), therefore…
So when we approach something like AI, it is fundamentally purpose driven. To assert otherwise is illogical. Even hallucinations, whether human or the labeled phenomenon with AI, these are products of cause and effect relationships, not a real floating island in an immaterial plane.
