I know I'm going to get backlash from this comment.... I'm not a truck driver. However, I do drive a lot. 40-50K miles per year. Since Covid I have noticed a huge drop in the skill level of truckers on the road. I used to have confidence when driving around truckers. Now I don't want to be any where near any of them. Lots of them on their phones or eating changing lanes abruptly. I don't want people to loose jobs but at the same time, eventually AI will be safer than most of the drivers out there. Way before Covid (late 80's) I lost an uncle who was escorting a crane to a trucker that wasn't paying attention. I'm sorry people but if this makes the roads safer for MUCH smaller vehicles it's a no brainer. i know there are a lot of skilled drivers out there but it's like they don't even test hard on the drivers test. I want to add when I am around trucks I don't cut them off at all. I don't go through round abouts next to them. When changing lanes in front of them I give them plenty of notice with my turn signal and plenty of space.
