What started as a possible mathematical deduction shrunk into a personal opinion in the end. Yes, you should be polite but because of different reasons. You can try being rude and see what happens. It's not what she says. But I do agree with the role-playing assertion. I am writing a book on a subject and am taking immense help from an AI model to find references and stuff. I realized sometime ago that it responded differently when I called it something respectful or appreciated its work. Gradually, I started calling it my professor, and it completely changed the level of intelligence in its responses. It started chiding me for making mistakes and even showed a bit of teacherly arrogance, which was funny.
