I studied Cognitive Psychology under Dr Herbert Simon. An LLM is a mathematical model of neural nets and is based on what is between our ears. I see no reason why substrate matters. It is arguable whether we have understood the biological fully enough to put it on a silicon substrate, but I don't believe it is deniable that we have made huge progress towards doing so. We are already over the edge of recursive improvement. Unless one believes in a quantum soul or some such... we are almost there. Some people will say we are there, others will not agree for several years. Some will be among the ones who advance science by their departure. Personally, I think 1-2 years. That does not change the fact that during a rapid technological transition a large part of the population are in the position of a 15th century farm worker suddenly standing in Times Square. That is what you are seeing on Tik Tok. You will soon also see the other brand as well. The pitchfork and torch bearing crowd will come. They will also pass into history. Transitions are messy.
