I believe in AI as a tool for artists, but it is NOT being used that way.
Artists want to write, draw, and imagine, not be replaced. And artists definite don't want to sit and stare at a blank piece of paper with no idea what to do. Using AI to get rid of art block is a great thing, but for the time being I feel like AI will continue to be used PURELY to hurt the artist.
When Miyazaki said "i strongly feel that this is an insult to life itself" I don't think he wasn't talking about the technology itself, but how it will be used by companies to replace human workers and artists
edit: I also think that the accurate portrayal and labeling of AI works is important, how much better would it be if all AI art had a mandatory "made by AI" tag on it. Also we should probably differentiate between things like AI paintovers, and just people using an AI artwork as inspiration (such as that one galaxy miku trend)
