Diagnosis is an excercise of recognizing paterns of symptoms and crossrefrencing with a body of known ailments. Theoretically, this work fits AI perfectly. An advanced search algorith paired with a sufficiently completed database would yeild a program capable of extremely accurate diagnosis and possibly even new catagorizations for illnesses we never thought of.
