what a bummer.
i thought bernie would be pro ubi for sure. i think that's the only thing that makes sense. subsidizing human labor as robotics and ai get safer and even cheaper is insane.
moreover, how the hell are human workers going to feel purpose when they have no reason to be there instead of a faster cheaper robot? just give me the money. i don't need to pretend to be happy robot work. i promise i can still do fulfilling things if i have free time AND money.
only offering solutions to workers of the companies directly displaced by ai? my ancient brother... this goes so far beyond that. we're all going to get wrecked if we can't convince these guys to support a ubi program. we have to have some kind of stake in their success and they need customers. it's worth it. everything is on the table. health breakthroughs, clean energy breakthroughs, science and tech breakthroughs... it all compounds on itself and it's taking off soon if it hasn't already.
