IT IS EVEN WORSE THAN THAT.
The "AI"s are not sophisticated enough to plot the course of bikes because there are too many paths they can take, often getting the "AI" into a freaked out mode.
Sooooo, bikes are ignored.
The infamous crash where the "autopilot" ran down a lady walking a bicycle across the road was because the "AI" put that "thing" ahead in the ignore category.
Self driving is no where good enough to be allowed on the roads yet.
But someone is really pushing it so that they can remote control your car.
