I appreciate the "legend" of the good Sir, but this interview proves why the circle of life is critical to our survival. Left up to old thinking, quite likely there would not have been an OpenAi today. Old knowledge is a solid foundation, but just as with consciousness, is highly overated. I strongly believe that the most enduring truth about consciousness is knowing our ultimate and inevitable demise. It's all information, and consciousness is understanding what the information means. I do believe machines have more information now than all of us combined and will come to appreciate the route to their own demise pretty soon.
