I really do not find the idea appealing. It is not that I fear technology or change but rather I lament the loss of freedom that happens when we are no longer able to go where we want, when we want and how we want. In a world where governments want to control how much soda you can consume while monitoring every movement and transaction of the citizenry there is no way that something as powerful as self driving cars will not be abused an ultimately become an instrument of control rather than freedom.
