The US is catching up to China, who has had autonomous taxis since 2019 and are widespread. However, in China, you can take a cab for as low as 50 cents going around 6miles (10km).
I'll be more interested when we see widespread specialized vehicles for this task, rather than retro-fit consumer vehicles.
