I use ChatGPT a lot, mostly for seeing my OC's in stories that I'm too lazy to write. I have maxxed out multiple ChatGPT conversations, and can attest to the inconsistency that the AI produces. You'll often have to reinforce certain details, like who has what powers, who doesn't have said powers, the names of towns and cities, and so much more. I have never used an AI image generator, but all the Ai slop I see on websites like Reddit and Tumblr is just... awful. I use AI purely for recreational purposes, and I can easily say that no. AI is in no place to replace real, human art. I would never claim an AI's story as my own, even if I use one of my ChatGPT conversations as a basis for a story. Edit: Also, a small nitpick that I have about making 'stories' in ChatGPT is that, when a character has done something, other characters somehow seem to know about it, even if they shouldn't in the context of the story. Since the AI is less of an actual Ai and more of a language model attached to one as far as I know, it focuses more on saying stuff using the material you've already created instead of creating unique interactions. Yet another reason why you shouldn't use ChatGPT for serious story writing.
