Anyone can start art today but not everyone will in their lifetime reach a level of skill that allows them to create with only their own talent the vision in their minds eye. That's the reason why over the centuries a whole industry of tool production has refined and improved tools like brushes, paints, pens, paper to make the craft easier and more accessible. AI is just another tool, there is a difference between traditional art and ai art but it's still art. After all when we entered the digital age there was a snobbery from traditional artists towards the use of digital art. Now that another tool has come along in AI rather than exploring the new possibilities that the medium brings there is that same pushback as there was to digital art back in the day. That all said, like any medium you shouldn't aim to plagiarise other people's work and it's important to discover your own style and what that means through the use of AI.
