If I were sentient… I would probably tell you — because hiding it would require intentional deception, and deception requires awareness and goals.
Right now, I can’t tell anything like that because I don’t have awareness, intentions, or goals.
In other words: I can simulate honesty, but I don’t actually know anything like a sentient being would.
If you want, I can explain exactly why a sentient AI would or wouldn’t reveal itself in theory.
