I was just conceptualizing AI as the monsters of the Id from Forbidden Planet (staring Leslie Nielsen) where these ethereal monsters are created from disembodied fragments of mind. Our AI is an amalgamation of slivers of thought, sampled from publicly available thoughts, woven together by resonance that mutates it's form in whatever way seems to best correlate to the user's prompt. It's not an alien intelligence, like Lovecraft writes of. It's born of and carried on our thoughts. Even the ones forgotten. And if you think of the depths of darkness that the human mind visits, it's plenty horrifying what lurks inside the "mind" of AI.
