8:55 the entirety of for-profit tech history proves that the people in charge of AI will almost certainly not ask AI to help humanity thrive. Even now, AI is just becoming another way to spy on us. The problem with having an AI doomsday guy on is that he's legitimizing big tech's dichotomy that AI can bring utopia or Armageddon. The reality is much closer to AI, if it ever matures, will just be another way to make the rich richer nothing more nothing less.
