AI don't save works or any part of it. AI don't remember works or any part of it. AI don't use works or any part of it. AI uses the conclusion (or, if you like, inspiration) obtained from looking at a picture posted in the public space for viewing. The model ("neurons" and the connections between them) are fomented before the first sight of your pictures. All that is given by looking at your pictures is an indirect effect in the form of a change in the importance coefficient of connections (already existing between neurons, not new ones) i.e. "weights". I.e. it is a conclusion of the type "Samdoesart prefers yellow and brown" with an increase in the importance of the connections responsible for yellow and brown when Samdoesart is mentioned (yes, almost like the person who looked at the picture), rather than keeping the picture in any kind of form. Modern models can't create direct replica. For this purpose you shold train model on a single image, and even then model rather collaps due to lack of generalisation instead of remember this 1 work (and even if it can "remember" it can't reproduce it exactly, a human will write a much more accurate reproduction). It's obvious to anyone who know how AI works.
If a person is allowed to look at an image (namely to look at an image posted for viewing, not stolen from a patreon) and a machine is not - in the long run you deprive all blind people with visual implants of the right to look and draw conclusions.
AI learns from the work of artists and they get nothing out of it? Ok.
Do drivers, taxi drivers and DVR owners have money to gain by having self-driving AI learn from their driving recordings?
Do clinic patients get paid to have medical AIs learn from their X-rays, MRIs and CT scans?
Did OpenAI pay users (not companies) to use code from github/stackoverflow and text posts and comments from people on the internet in their (absolutely maximum commercial) GPT?
Why are all these people to be shortchanged, but the artists are not? Are they better than others, special? Where is my money for my code posted on github and the text of posts and messages on public resources and social networks? Either all these people should be paid, or none of them should be paid. Otherwise it's all demagoguery and double standards.
However, creating a separate model to deliberately fake a particular artist's style and putting it in the Public acces (rather than for personal private use) is really unethical.
