I think the problem lies within the person who uses it. It is fact that most decide to use AI to pump out brainrot entertainment because it’s cheaper, which we all must admit is a real problem within the entertainment industry(which is rooted more in capitalism than AI) or AI can generate visuals for something that that a HUMAN believes fits their vision; same as computer graphics.(unless it is trained on data that that the human/company doesn’t own or have right to use) I would consider writers as artists, using their own experiences and passion to craft their books and novels, but most are just not “painters”, all visuals are in their head. If they use so to create an image of a character with AI the WRITER decides weaver it fits their vision or not. They specify all the necessary details and can generate hundreds of prompts before settling on a design they are satisfied with. AI can be good for PROTOTYPING character designs. I would honestly prefer a real human to make the FINAL visuals for my book. I wish the haters would be more constructive, like AI helped bring dire wolves back, edit each individual genome of the gray wolf, something impossible to do by hand. (Edit) but of course some AI tools really do use data, art/images of others without consent! And that is a problem that must be addressed. If a business trains it on their data or data they bought then it’s fine. also never RELY on it.
