It was absolutely trained to continue the text. It wasn't trained to stop making the text. This is part of why current LLMs suck so much. They cannot have single thoughts they are forced by their trainers to have a continuous dribble of thoughts. So to speak, Im not sure that what LLMs do is thinking at this point but Im just trying to get my point across about what the LLM is doing inside the parts we don't quite understand.
