The critical point is to understand, that AI is a technology that will have a huge impact on EVERYTHING! Experts say that it's transformative power will be even greater that that of what electricity did with society.
I live in Germany and I personally think, that our economy system (in the US and Europe, no, the whole world) is not functioning in a world with AI. So AI will come,.and will come very soon, so the huge task we have is to find an alternative economical-system!!!
This is an enormous task - the same fundamental challenge that gives us the climate change.
What I fear is: that our societies and economical.systems are simply to big and to rigid for fundamental change.
We must no fail to change, cause there is no alternative!!!
